Columbia lily

Three Columbia lilies.

The Columbia lily, growing on Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The flower is a variety of tiger lily that grows across western North America. Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth and other native peoples in western Washington steamed, boiled or pit-cooked its bulbs as a flavoring for meats and soups. USDA Forest Service archive photo (undated).
