Snowshoe with a Ranger (Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie NF)
“Snowshoe with a Ranger” opportunities are offered at Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie Pass on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on Saturdays and Sundays through March 31, and at the Glacier Public Service Center in Deming, WA every other Sunday. Extended hikes are offered at Snoqualmie Pass on Fridays.
USDA Forest Service wilderness rangers lead visitors on guided, interpretive snowshoe hikes to introduce new visitors to the forest, and the sport – especially those who may not have the experience, equipment, or confidence to head out into the woods on their own. Participants should dress warmly and bring a backpack containing extra clothing, a basic first aid kit, food, and water. Snowshoes will be provided.
Snowshoe hikes range from short treks to extended hikes. Special interest snowshoe hikes are also offered, such as for avalanche awareness, children, and outdoors photography.
